Lazar is an academic author with nine publications in the last four years. Before founding Summations, Lazar earned a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto. His research has been featured on a journal’s cover page and awarded at multiple conferences.
He has also contributed to programs making science more accessible. For example, he delivered lectures to high school students visiting his research institute. In the last two years of his studies, he founded and led a faculty-funded initiative to improve graduate students’ experience by increasing access to university resources.
