Praapti Jayaswal Avlokita Tiwari
Tuberculosis (TB) is curable, and yet the most lethal infectious disease in the world. Each year, nearly two million die of TB globally.The situation is exacerbated by the emergence of drug-resistant forms and their delayed diagnosis.
AarogyaAI exploits genomics and artificial intelligence to rapidly and comprehensively diagnose drug-resistant TB in a few hours, instead of weeks. This means that patients can be prescribed the right combination of drugs instantly. The company’s goal is to be the gold standard in TB diagnostics by 2023.
They have partnered with 11 leading diagnostic labs in India for validating their product. The world’s largest sequencing company Illumina Inc. (USA) has invested in them and Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, Chief Scientist, WHO is their advisor.
AarogyaAI are recipients of the BIRAC-TiE WinER Award 2020, TIDE 2.0 MeiTy (Govt. of India) grant and Semi-finalists of the

Umar Javed Wani has a Masters degree in Robotics, Systems and Control from the highly prestigious ETH Zurich. He has a bachelors degree in Mechatronics Engineering. AccuRx is developing data-driven diagnostic software to eliminate inappropriate antibiotic use and tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR). AMR is one of the greatest societal threats, currently responsible for 700,000 global deaths each year, with this figure projected to rise to 10 million deaths by 2050, and a 3.5% hit to GDP. We solve this by combining decision support, behavioural science and data science, and starting in primary care.
Jacob Haddad read Engineering, Economics and Management at Oxford. He has led healthcare projects in quality improvement, performance improvement and outcome based commissioning.
Laurence Bargery read Physics at Cambridge. He previously developed optimisation software for the oil industry, and in his spare time built and sold sports competition software

Mobashir Mohammad Nimantha Baranasuriya
Ackcio builds extremely reliable, wireless monitoring solutions for the world’s most challenging industries, like construction. Deepti Chopra did her undergrad at IIT, and research at Caltech where she improved accuracy of ML algorithms used to predict earthquakes in California’s early warning systems. As engineer #2 at vahan.ai, she built a WhatsApp chatbot for recruitment/ training of blue collar workers (currently used by Uber, Flipkart, Grab etc). She previously built and launched an outbound hiring tool (Jobhash).
Siddhartha Gunti graduated with research in context based machine translation from IIT. At Goldman Sachs, he developed equity swap quantitative models as Senior Quant. As the first engineer turned PM at Headout, he built the V1 of the product and later a 13 member tech team with engineers from Google, Facebook and Goldman Sachs to scale the product to 1M users.

Agrosight
Mayke De Freitas Santos Adolfo Posadas Durand
Agrosight detects plant diseases early using hyper-spectral signals, dramatically reducing the cost of food production. Our technology detects diseases before they cause serious damage to crops. We do this by detecting minute changes in the light spectrum profile of a plant, signalling that a plant is affected days before any physical manifestation of damage is shown. This significantly reduces crop loss for farmers.
Mayke De Freitas Santos has been working as a policy advisor and project manager for several NGOs to minimise the impact that agriculture causes to biodiversity globally. He holds degrees from the Universities of London and Cambridge in International Environmental Law and Conservation Policy.
Adolfo Posadas Durand has a PhD in Physical Science and more than 25 years of experience in applied physics, mathematical modelling and complex systems applied to agriculture, soil physics, ecology, and environmental science.

Leopold Spenner has spent his life working with cement and concrete, growing up next to the plant his family has owned for 4 generations. His MSc in Industrial Engineering from KIT, research at the German Cement Association and two building material projects at BCG allowed him to experience the industry from all angles.
Dr. Robert Meyer holds a MSc & PhD in Machine Learning from TU Berlin. He co-founded and scaled the team that built the entire dynamic pricing pipeline for FlixBus from scratch in 2 years, suggesting prices for >100,000 tickets a day. He built his first start-up at age of 22, where he transferred a technology from lab and commercialized it.
Dr Akbar Vahidi earned his PhD in enzyme technology from NUS. With 10 years of experience in the field, he has many publications and patents and delivered several industrial projects to big pharma, food and biofuel companies. As lead researcher, his lab spent US$5 million to develop and patent a platform for faster and cheaper enzyme development.

AtomBrush is building Robots to automate building painting.
Globally, $300 billion is spent on painting labor alone. Productivity increase in construction has been flat over the last 70 years, with the industry still following centuries-old processes. Atomionics
Ravi Kumar Sahil Tapiawala
Atomionics is building atomic sensors for navigation and resource exploration. Sensing technology is severely inadequate for a lot of applications navigation and positioning, pinpointing oil and gas reserves, tunnel detection etc.
Atomionics builds atomic sensors harnessing quantum mechanical properties of the atoms. Karishma Kamal Galani holds a Master’s in Educational Technology from Harvard University. With time in research at MIT’s Media Lab, she has also led edtech innovation at an international school and authored two books in her field.
Ramsri Goutham Golla is an AI expert who has spent the last 7 years building large scale AI products in the Bay Area. He has worked on patented machine learning algorithms as part of his academic research. Most recently he founded an AI publishing startup with his independent Natural Language Processing research work.
