Open Cosmos

Company summary
Open Cosmos runs satellite missions from start to finish. It builds and launches small satellites for Earth observation, navigation and communication. The company makes it easy for organizations to access space without specialist teams or long delays.
The Problem
Getting a satellite into orbit is still slow and expensive. Many organizations need space data but can’t manage the cost or complexity. Long timelines, limited access, and high technical barriers stop them from using satellites to solve real-world problems.
The Solution
Open Cosmos offers a complete service that covers design, build, launch and operation. Its OpenOrbit satellites carry cameras, sensors and AI tools. Customers can run private missions or join the shared OpenConstellation network. The DataCosmos platform turns raw space data into ready-to-use insights.
Funding
In September 2023, Open Cosmos raised $50M led by ETF Partners, Trill Impact and A&G, with support from Accenture Ventures and others.
